Early Years Love Your Bike Day

The sun is shining; children are dressed up in their riding clothes. Everyone has their bike and helmet ready. Off we go zooming onto the enclosed parking space where we shall spend our morning. There is already a bike fundi waiting to fix any spoiled bikes; a bike decorating stop and a quiet area to rest. Zoom we go onto the track laid out, some on tykes and others on bikes. So much space to ride and bumps here and there. The teachers remind us to slow down at corners and inclined areas. After our snack, the bike wash area is open. Wow! Children sponge their bikes squeaky clean. After a great morning of riding fun, we head to our classes to rest and for some yummy lunch.

Braeburn Imani Under 11 Rugby Debut

Braeburn Imani's first under 11 Rugby Match of the season was against Braeburn Garden Estate (BGE). The Braeburn Imani team hadn't played full contact before and were quite scared but the fabulous BGE Teacher/Ref, Mr Edwards, was brilliant - he let a few fouls pass to allow the game to progress but stopped and explained to both sides the error when he needed to. Every child felt proud of themselves.
BGE won and were great sports - shaking hands with Braeburn Imani players and helping one up and cheering him when he put on a great chase but wasn't able to stop the BGE try.
The BGE team were such young gents and BIIS now feel confident for future matches...they will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.....fabulous!
