Dance fitness!

11th June 2022

Dancing is a great form of exercise, and a love of dance from an early age can help motivate kids to stay active as they grow into adults. Dancing increases a child's flexibility, range of motion, physical strength, stamina as well as improving their mental well-being.

This was evident during our ‘Early Years Shake Up Morning’. The children started on a high gear, enjoying some music and dances in their respective classes as early as 8.30 am. They also enjoyed playing different musical instruments set in classes and out in the garden, making rhythms and playing their familiar songs and their own composed songs.

The highlight of the event started as soon as we put on our dancing costumes (dance skirts and wristbands made from newspapers and ribbons respectively) and went around the early years dancing to “follow the leader” song’ and other amazing traditional songs from different countries.

Children had so much fun and they are repeatedly signing some of the learnt traditional songs.

Indeed, from an early age, we encourage our Learners to be Confident Individuals, Responsible Citizens, and to Enjoy Success. The range of activities performed by learners were more than enough to ensure that all our lovely young learners exercised these important Braeburn Circles.
